The World is a shrinking place and you can run almost anywhere. However, some destinations and events capture the imagination more than others.
At Great Trail Marathons our aim is to bring you a selection of events that are truely destination marathons but at the same time very achievable events that most 'ordinary' runners can attend without feeling intimidated.
Some are tougher than others, some are simply fun and not all are in remote places so, whatever your sense of adventure, there is an event for you.
The events are organised jointly between 2:09 Events and experts from the local area of each event - we have experienced great support in each region by people who are very proud to have runners discovering their environment.
2:09 Events is a fully bonded Tour Operator from England with a wide experience of organising running events. It is owned and managed by the 1983 London Marathon winner Mike Gratton who took victory in 2hrs 9mins 43 sec - hence the name of the company.
